Bayern Munich warmed up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City by beating Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to return to the Bundesliga summit.
Thomas Muller put Bayern in front in the fifth minute and former City defender Daniel van Buyten added the second in the 19th minute of the evening kick-off at the Allianz Arena.
Arjen Robben came off the bench to make it three late on and seal the Bavarians' sixth straight league win.
Filip Daems' penalty was earlier enough to give Monchengladbach a narrow home win over b- the 78th-minute spot-kick earning Lucien Favre's side their third straight 1-0 win and putting them provisionally top of the pile.
